New Civil Hospital Project Moves Ahead in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México – Construction of a new Civil Hospital in Puerto Vallarta is moving forward through a coordinated effort between Mayor Luis Munguía, Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus, and the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG).

The modern hospital complex will be built on a four-hectare site within the University Center of the Coast (CUC), strengthening the region’s medical infrastructure and expanding access to specialized care for local families.

One of the project’s primary goals is to ensure that medical specialists can remain in Puerto Vallarta to practice their profession. By creating more opportunities for advanced care locally, the hospital will help reduce the need for patients to travel to other cities for treatment and will increase healthcare capacity across the region.

Preliminary evaluations and soil studies are currently underway to confirm the site’s suitability. The first phase of construction is expected to begin this year, once technical assessments have been completed.

The Civil Hospital forms part of a broader strategy led by the Government of Jalisco, UdeG, and the municipal administration to reinforce and modernize public services in Puerto Vallarta.

Governor Lemus noted that while the state has committed to avoiding active construction projects during the upcoming World Cup period, that time will be used to finalize plans and complete bidding processes. This approach will allow investment to be activated immediately after the international event, ensuring the project advances without delay.

With strong coordination among state, municipal, and academic leaders, the new Civil Hospital represents a significant step forward in strengthening healthcare services and supporting long-term growth in Puerto Vallarta.
