New Patrol Vehicles Improve Public Safety in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta’s efforts to enhance public safety took another step forward this week as Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus delivered four fully equipped patrol trucks to the municipality. Mayor Luis Munguía accepted the vehicles on behalf of the city and thanked the governor for his ongoing support.

The new patrol trucks, funded through the Public Security Contribution Fund (FASP) and the Fund for the Strengthening of Public Security Institutions (FOFISP), aim to improve police response capabilities and reinforce the safety of residents and visitors alike.

“With these patrol cars, we are strengthening our capacity to protect the community and better respond to its needs,” said Mayor Munguía during the ceremony.

The delivery reflects the state’s ongoing commitment to public security, a point emphasized by Governor Lemus, who promised to continue working toward a safer, more secure future for Jalisco’s families.

Joining the mayor were City Council Secretary General José Juan Velázquez Hernández and Public Safety Commissioner Eduardo Horacio Llanas Cuevas, both of whom acknowledged the importance of reliable transportation and equipment in maintaining an effective security presence across the municipality.

These new patrol units follow a larger fleet expansion in May, when 60 vehicles were added through Fortamun funding. That delivery included 30 patrol trucks, four all-terrain pickups, eight sedans, 10 ATVs, and 10 high-powered motorcycles, all of which have already contributed to faster response times and improved police visibility in various areas of the city. Those vehicles were acquired through funding from the Fund for Strengthening Municipalities (Fortamun).

With the continued investment in safety resources, Puerto Vallarta is strengthening its readiness to face security challenges and provide a safer environment for residents, business owners, and tourists alike.
