Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – A new generation of law enforcement officers has joined Puerto Vallarta’s Municipal Police, following the graduation of the 21st class of police cadets last week. The ceremony gathered local authorities, instructors, and proud families to celebrate the 39 graduates who will now reinforce public safety across the city.
Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía González and Police Commissioner Eduardo Horacio Llanas Cuevas led the event, praising the cadets for their discipline, commitment, and determination throughout their training. Both officials emphasized that the graduates represent not only a strengthened police force but also the continued progress of a security strategy focused on community trust.
Instructors were recognized for their dedication to shaping well-prepared officers, while families received heartfelt appreciation for supporting the cadets through months of rigorous preparation. Their encouragement, officials noted, played a crucial role in each graduate’s success.
One of the most memorable moments came when Cadet Itzy Kareny Marmolejo Castro addressed the audience on behalf of her class. She thanked the authorities and instructors for their guidance and highlighted the core principles that shaped their training: honor, respect, and discipline.

Mayor Munguía expressed pride in the accomplishments of the new officers and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening the local police force. He pointed to significant investments made this year, including more than 100 new patrol vehicles, expanded training programs, and upgraded equipment, all aimed at improving response capacity and maintaining public confidence.
He also noted Puerto Vallarta’s position among the top cities in Mexico for perceived safety, crediting initiatives such as the reinstatement of the Tourist Police and ongoing attention to citizen reports and high-priority areas.
The ceremony concluded with the official swearing-in of the 39 new officers, who pledged to uphold principles of legality, professionalism, honesty, and respect for human rights as they begin their service.
With the addition of these newly trained officers, Puerto Vallarta strengthens its commitment to safeguarding residents and visitors, reinforcing a security strategy built on readiness, professionalism, and community trust.
