Paws and Claws Puerto Vallarta Reflects on a Year of Giving

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – As the holidays approach, Paws and Claws Puerto Vallarta is extending heartfelt thanks to the donors, volunteers, veterinarians, and rescue partners who make its mission possible. Their continued support has strengthened a dependable lifeline for animals in need and helped advance long-term care and protection throughout the community.

With 2025 coming to a close, the organization is also reflecting on a year defined by steady progress and compassion in action. Thanks to generous monthly and one-time donations, hundreds of dogs and cats received food, medical care, and safety. These efforts allowed injured animals to heal, fearful pets to regain trust, and local rescuers to carry on their work with greater confidence and support.

This season, Paws and Claws PV has launched its New Year of Hope Match Challenge, with board members matching all donations made through January 31, up to $2,000 USD. Every gift is doubled, allowing the organization to purchase more food, fund additional surgeries, respond to urgent medical cases, and provide ongoing medical care for abandoned and injured animals.

Looking ahead, the organization is also preparing to introduce its Virtual Adoption Program, set to launch in January 2026. The initiative will allow supporters to sponsor a specific dog or cat without taking them home, helping cover essential needs such as food, veterinary care, spay and neuter procedures, and other ongoing expenses. Virtual adopters will receive regular updates, creating a meaningful connection while easing the burden on local rescuers who care for large numbers of animals.

The impact of community support in 2025 is clear. Over the past 12 months, Paws and Claws Puerto Vallarta delivered hundreds of bags of food and litter to local shelters, supported dozens of free spay-and-neuter clinics, and provided emergency and ongoing medical care for abandoned and injured animals.

In total, the organization distributed 219 bags of cat food, 51 bags of cat litter, and 236 bags of dog food, while helping facilitate 1,478 sterilizations. These efforts have not only saved individual lives but have also prevented the birth of thousands of future homeless animals.

These accomplishments and future plans represent a collective effort between donors, volunteers, and veterinarians. By working together, the Paws and Claws PV family continues to ensure that Puerto Vallarta’s animals receive the protection and love they deserve. Supporters are encouraged to visit the organization’s website or Facebook page to join the match challenge or learn more about the upcoming sponsorship opportunities.

Paws and Claws Puerto Vallarta is dedicated to ensuring that dogs and cats in the Puerto Vallarta area of Mexico lead a life free from the pain and suffering of abandonment and neglect. They achieve this by financially supporting the numerous small local rescuers who have a big hearts but limited financial means. Every dollar donated will be used to improve the lives of rescued cats and dogs in the Puerto Vallarta area. Together we can make a world of difference, one paw at a time.
