Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – One of the most important travel platforms in the world, Expedia, recently announced U.S. trends for the most important vacation periods of the year, such as Thanksgiving and New Year’s. It comes as no surprise that Puerto Vallarta is among Americans’ Top 10 holiday destination preferences.
In this analysis of future purchases, the destinations that are having the highest and fastest growth in the demand for rooms for the November and December holidays are highlighted, compared to the same period of 2020.
In this ranking of travel preference for Thanksgiving week, Puerto Vallarta is among the top 10 most popular, which confirms the positioning enjoyed by this warm Mexican destination.
The ranking includes two other important destinations in Mexico, Cancun and Riviera Maya, as well as 6 other destinations in the United States and the Dominican Republic.
“Puerto Vallarta is widely accepted by the North American traveler, since this destination has the widest range of accommodations in Mexico and the Caribbean, with something for every budget and preference,” shared Luis Villaseñor, former Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust.
He also added that the destination “has more than 50 outdoor activities for the traveler with a thirst for adventure, around 1,000 restaurants with an offer of more than 30 different cuisines and, without a doubt, a rapid recovery in the air routes from USA.”
It is important to note that the Puerto Vallarta International Airport will receive more than 1,600 flights for the month of October and, for November, it is expected to exceed 1,800 with the return of the winter season, as well as new routes from the city of Austin, Texas. It is estimated that growth for the penultimate month of the year will increase 38 percent compared to the same month in 2020, when there were 1,323 flights.
Currently Puerto Vallarta has a direct connection with 19 cities in the United States, including: San Diego, Santa Ana, Los Angeles, San José, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Houston, Dallas, McAllen, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Newark.
