Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta is enhancing its commitment to the safety and well-being of visitors and residents alike with the establishment of a new operational base for the Green Angels. This move, championed by the “Government of Good,” solidifies the city’s dedication to providing top-tier assistance services.
The City Council, in a recent session, approved a proposal put forth by Councilwoman Melissa Madero, allocating a dedicated space for a Green Angels mobile unit. This unit will be strategically located at the Civil Protection and Fire Department facilities in Conchas Chinas. This decision means the Green Angels will have the necessary resources and space to efficiently carry out their vital functions, serving both locals and tourists throughout the region.
This initiative by the Luis Munguía administration underscores its ongoing efforts to build trust and ensure security within the community. The Green Angels are a well-regarded, free service provided by the Mexican Ministry of Tourism, renowned for their invaluable support to travelers on Mexico’s roads.
Recognizable by their distinctive white and green trucks, the Green Angels patrol federal highways daily, offering a range of services. These include mechanical assistance for vehicle breakdowns, tire changes, and general roadside support. They also provide essential tourist guidance, offering information on various destinations and assisting in emergencies, including natural phenomena like floods or landslides.
Operating 365 days a year, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, the Green Angels are a constant presence on Mexico’s extensive road network, focused on ensuring the safety and comfort of all who travel. Their services are entirely free of charge; motorists are only responsible for the cost of fuel, parts, or any additional towing that might be required.
For those needing assistance, the Green Angels can be reached by dialing 078 or 01-800-006-8839. Additionally, a convenient mobile application is available for both Android and Apple devices, providing easy access to their services and information.
This new base in Conchas Chinas marks a significant step forward in Puerto Vallarta’s efforts to provide a welcoming and secure environment for everyone.
