Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – A large crowd gathered at Los Arcos de Malecón on Saturday to hear Puerto Vallarta Mayor Luis Munguía share his progress during the first 100 days of his administration. Joined by federal and local deputies, senators, and citizens, Munguía demonstrated strong political and social backing as he outlined accomplishments and plans for the city’s future.
The Mayor proudly announced that his administration has initiated more than 50 construction projects, with several already completed – a record-breaking achievement for a Vallarta government. These projects include vital infrastructure upgrades to improve daily life for residents and visitors alike.
Education and healthcare have also seen remarkable advancements. More than 2,200 elementary school students have received electronic tablets through a new initiative aimed at enhancing learning opportunities. Additionally, Dr. Tucán’s clinic and mobile unit have brought free healthcare to over 5,000 individuals across the municipality, setting a new standard in Puerto Vallarta’s medical services.
Munguía emphasized his collaboration with Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus, who has committed over 2 billion pesos for infrastructure projects, including avenue expansions and dock improvements. The Mayor also expressed gratitude to President Claudia Sheinbaum for supporting transformative projects like the Amado Nervo Bridge, (previously known as the Federación Bridge), which will connect Puerto Vallarta with Bahía de Banderas, fostering greater regional connectivity.
Munguía concluded his speech with a strong commitment to building a smarter, more sustainable, and inclusive Puerto Vallarta. Promising a “reborn Puerto Vallarta,” he assured the crowd that the city would not return to its previous state. “Vallarta deserves more, and with your support, we will achieve the development that this port needs,” he said, leaving the audience inspired by his dedication to the people and the city’s bright future.
