Puerto Vallarta is celebrating a remarkable tourism year as local authorities applaud the 2025 results presented by Jalisco Secretary of Tourism Michelle Fridman at the Puerto Vallarta Convention Center. The report highlighted a performance that exceeded expectations and strengthened the city’s position among Mexico’s premier destinations.
Tourism Director Alejandra Cornejo emphasized that the achievements reflect a dynamic year of growth and effective promotion, with Puerto Vallarta standing strong in national and international markets. The results include 5 million visitors, 32 billion pesos in economic impact, a 70 percent hotel occupancy rate, and the arrival of 123 cruise ships carrying more than 392,000 passengers. These figures showcase traveler confidence in the city’s service quality, warm hospitality, and natural appeal.
And the momentum continues. As the city enters the height of its winter travel season, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport is gearing up for a surge of arrivals, and Booking.com reports searches for accommodations in Puerto Vallarta between December 20, 2025, and January 11, 2026 are up 4% compared to the same period last year. This rise signals a busy 2025–2026 winter season and reinforces the destination’s growing appeal as holiday visitors seek sunshine, beaches, and festive warmth.
Local officials credit this success to coordinated government promotion and the dedication of Puerto Vallarta’s tourism community. Hoteliers, restaurateurs, tour operators, and service providers have played a vital role in maintaining the city’s reputation for exceptional hospitality.
“We acknowledge Secretary Fridman’s leadership and the tireless work of her team, whose vision and commitment have shaped modern, sustainable tourism policies that reflect today’s needs,” Cornejo stated.
She noted that Puerto Vallarta is ready to keep the momentum going into next year, deepening partnerships, advancing joint promotion, and driving strategies that ensure a competitive and thriving future, while its beaches, scenery, and lively coastal spirit continue to attract winter travelers and sustain a high season that stretches well into spring, offering relaxation, warmth, and unforgettable experiences.
