Puerto Vallarta Electronics Recycling Drive June 4-6

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Next week, Puerto Vallarta residents will have the opportunity to protect the environment by properly disposing of their old electronics. The Municipal Government, under the leadership of the Luis Munguía administration and its Environmental Sustainability Directorate, is hosting a electronics collection campaign on June 4, 5, and 6.

From 9 am to 5 pm on these three days, five convenient drop-off locations will be open to accept your outdated gadgets. These include the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Complex, situated directly across from the Sheraton; the Municipal Administrative Unit (UMA); the La Lija Sports Complex; the Centro Universitario de la Costa; and the Main Plaza of Las Palmas.

This effort makes it simple to clear out those old electronics cluttering your home. Accepted items cover a wide range, from laptops, monitors, keyboards, and mice to printers, plasma TVs, and decoders. You can also bring in landline and cordless phones, modems, control panels, and even small kitchen appliances like blenders, coffee makers, and toasters. Larger items such as refrigerators and microwaves are also welcome, along with common batteries, digital cameras, drones, electronic cards, and USB cables.

The objective of this campaign is to help people get rid of all of their old electrical and electronic devices, since these items cannot be mixed in with normal garbage. Items that will not be accepted include plastics, paper and cardboard, glass, scrap metal, and loose metal. Additionally, non-recyclable waste like toner cartridges, clothing, textiles, wooden furniture, fabric, completely burned or incinerated appliances, paints, and lamps should not be brought to the collection points.

Another goal is to raise citizen’s environmental awareness and encourage them to stop depositing unwanted electronics and appliances in vacant lots, because many of them contain harmful products such as mercury and lead, which can have a profound impact on our environment.

This campaign is driven purely by a commitment to environmental well-being, with no profit motive. For the safety and effectiveness of the program, please note that only items from the established list will be received. Dismantled or manually altered devices cannot be accepted, nor will the removal of devices left in the collection area be permitted.

Let’s work together to make this a truly successful and environmentally conscious event for Puerto Vallarta!
