Puerto Vallarta Expects Tourist Surge for Patriotic Weekend

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta is gearing up for a lively and patriotic long weekend. The city’s iconic Fiestas Patrias celebrations, coupled with its stunning beaches and attractions, are expected to draw a significant number of visitors from September 14-16. This influx of tourists is poised to boost local businesses, particularly the hospitality industry.

Alejandro Torres Magaña, the general manager of the Association of Hotels and Motels, expressed optimism about the upcoming festivities. “September 15th is a nationally celebrated holiday, and the festivities in Puerto Vallarta are always exceptional,” he stated. “The lively atmosphere creates a strong appeal for tourists, especially those from nearby regions like Bajío and Mexico.”

Torres Magaña emphasized the importance of providing exceptional service to visitors. “Let’s make them feel at home by offering warm hospitality,” he urged local businesses.

Last year’s Puente Patrio (Patriotic Bridge) weekend demonstrated the city’s tourism potential. Many hotels reached full capacity, with an average occupancy rate between 80 and 85 percent. While September is traditionally a low season for tourism in Puerto Vallarta, with hotel occupancy typically between 35 and 40 percent, the upcoming patriotic celebrations are expected to give it a significant boost.

Looking ahead, the city’s tourism industry is anticipating a strong winter season. Hotel companies have already received reservations for the end of this year and the beginning of next year, indicating a positive outlook for the destination. “Puerto Vallarta’s reputation for quality services is attracting discerning travelers,” Torres Magaña noted.
