Puerto Vallarta Gets 3 New Fire Engines

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Last week, three new fire engines were delivered to the Puerto Vallarta Civil Protection and Fire Department, which will not only improve the emergency services provided to citizens, but also the safety and working conditions of the fire fighters themselves.

Acting on behalf of the mayor, the titular councilor of the Civil Protection, Risk Management and Fire Building Commission, Alicia Briones Mercado, recognized the work that the director of the Civil Protection, Firefighters and Lifeguards Department, Adrian Bobadilla Garcia, has done over the last six years to improve our first responders’ working conditions, including the recent acquisition of new vehicles, boats, and life saving equipment for our lifeguards.

She emphasized that the three new fire engines, which will be used not only for fire fighting but also for other emergency and security actions, were acquired with one hundred percent municipal resources to the tune of 1,778,280 pesos.

Bobadilla Garcia celebrated the integration of these three fire engines, or ‘pumpers’, which not only carry tools, hoses and three thousand liters of water, but also safely transport and protect the personnel.

“Within the institution’s projects, one of the priorities is always to minimize, mitigate and reduce response times in emergencies; It is a priority that society demands of us, therefore, to fulfill this objective, personnel, equipment and vehicles are required. That is why these three motorized pump trucks come to strengthen the capacities that we already have, they come to strengthen the service we provide” he said.

“When the necessary tools are available, working conditions are improved, which is reflected in the attention we give to citizens,” he added.

On behalf of all the elements of Civil Protection and Firefighters, he expressed his gratitude for the support the municipality provides to the agency, as well as to city councilor Alicia Briones for her ongoing efforts and for always being aware of the needs of Puerto Vallarta’s first responders.
