Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – On Tuesday, Puerto Vallarta formally established the Municipal Development Planning and Participation Council (COPPLADEMUN) for the 2025-2027 period. As the city’s highest-level auxiliary body for governance, strategic planning, and social participation, COPPLADEMUN aims to promote citizen involvement and sustainable development.
Chaired by Mayor Luis Munguía, the council integrates representatives from the public, private, and civil sectors. Its main role is to develop and update the Municipal Development and Governance Plan, a guiding document that outlines policies, goals, and objectives to be achieved by 2027. This ensures a collaborative approach to shaping the city’s future.
In addition to COPPLADEMUN’s efforts, Puerto Vallarta has launched a series of public consultation forums from March 26 to April 3. These forums, held across various neighborhoods and districts, invite residents to share concerns and ideas to help create a more prosperous and equitable city.
The first two forums took place on March 26 in Ixtapa and Las Juntas. More sessions are scheduled, including March 27 in El Magisterio and El Pitillal at 5:00 pm, March 28 in Marina Vallarta at 5:00 pm, and March 29 in Linear Park at 10:00 am. Additional meetings will be held in Infonavit CTM on April 1 at 5:00 pm, El Colorado and Las Palmas on April 2 at 5:00 pm, and the final session on April 3 at 6:00 pm in the central courtyard of the Municipal Presidency.
Residents can also participate online, addressing key topics such as social equity, urban development, economic growth, security, and digital governance. Thematic forums will focus on sustainability, community well-being, and innovative government strategies.
Through COPPLADEMUN and these public forums, the Puerto Vallarta municipal government is ensuring that citizen voices shape the city’s growth, fostering a future built on collaboration, sustainability, and shared progress.
