Puerto Vallarta Joined June 14 No Kings Day Rally for Justice

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – On Saturday, June 14, 2025, around 250 U.S. patriots and supporters gathered on Oscar’s North Lawn in Puerto Vallarta to show solidarity with “No Kings Day” rallies held across the U.S. and beyond. While Fox News reported over 5 million participants, organizers estimate upwards of 6 million joined more than 2,000 events – mostly in the U.S. – to voice opposition to the current administration’s policies and actions.

The event was promoted by NoKings.org as a day of defiance to show the U.S. Congress and the world that the people are “taking action to reject authoritarianism and demonstrate what democracy really looks like.”

Here in Puerto Vallarta, after a moment of silence for the slain Democratic political leaders in Minnesota, the crowd chanted, carried signs, and listened to speakers encouraging all of us not to bow down and be silenced by the threats from President Donald Trump and his followers.

Speakers affirmed opposition to “The Big Billionaire Boondoggle Bill” currently in the Senate that threatens to gut Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security, and add trillions to U.S. National Debt. While the rally was not related to the recent protests in Los Angeles, speakers and the crowd chanted in support of the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee for Due Process and justice for everyone in the United States.

The event ended with information on how to engage in self-help to stay grounded and centered, how to vote from outside the U.S. for those living abroad, and how to contact their Congressional Representatives and Senators to keep their voices heard.

Local organizers made it clear that while all were welcome, this demonstration was strictly focused on the U.S., reading the following statement “And to our neighbors in Mexico, we want to express our gratitude and respect. We are committed to being peaceful, law-abiding residents and visitors in this beautiful country. In accordance with Mexican law, we do not participate in Mexican politics. Our focus is solely on U.S. issues and voter outreach.”

The “No Kings Day” rallies were set to June 14 to counter the military parade held on at Trump’s insistence on this 79th birthday, which also is Flag Day. There have been at least six across the U.S. and world demonstrations against the U.S. administration’s policies and actions this year. The largest one prior to today was “Hands Off” on April 5 at 1400 locations and with 3-5 million estimated participants.
