Puerto Vallarta Launches Improved Garbage Collection Schedule

Puerto Vallarta is addressing recent concerns about waste management with a newly organized garbage collection schedule, aiming for cleaner streets and greater efficiency.

Following an initial period of adjustment under Red Ambiental, the city has launched an information campaign via municipal social media accounts to ensure residents are informed about new routes and schedules.

The updated system, set to roll out in phases on January 15 and January 30, includes specific collection times for different neighborhoods:

Zone H: Covering the Hotel Zone from Bocanegra Beach to Las Glorias, plus neighborhoods like 5 de Diciembre, Centro, and Versalles, garbage trucks will operate Monday to Saturday, 10 pm to 5 am, starting January 15.

Zone 1: Includes 56 neighborhoods such as Fluvial Vallarta, Bugambilias, and Conchas Chinas. Service runs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6 am to 2 pm, beginning January 30.

Zone 2: Spanning 70 neighborhoods, including the North Hotel Zone, Aramara, and Villas Río, trucks will operate Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2 pm to 10 pm, starting January 15.

Zone 3: Covering 60 neighborhoods like Vallarta 500, Los Portales, and Volcanes, collection is scheduled Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 2 pm to 10 pm, effective January 15.

Zone 4: Comprising 70 neighborhoods such as La Aurora, Aeropuerto, and Ixtapa, collection will occur in the mornings from 6 am to 2 pm, starting January 30.

Residents play a key role in keeping Puerto Vallarta clean by adhering to the new schedule. Placing garbage out only at designated times helps ensure timely pickup and prevents waste from accumulating on streets. The municipal government encourages everyone to do their part in maintaining the city’s beauty and hygiene.

For detailed route maps and further updates, residents can follow the official municipal social media accounts. Together, Puerto Vallarta can achieve a cleaner, more organized community.
