Puerto Vallarta is set to embark on significant infrastructure improvements in 2025, enhancing connectivity, urban development, and community spaces. These projects aim to ease traffic, upgrade essential facilities, and improve the quality of life for residents.
One of the most anticipated developments is the construction of the Amado Nervo Bridge, previously known as Federación Bridge. Announced during President Claudia Sheinbaum’s late December visit, the project is slated to begin in October 2025. However, adjustments to the existing executive plan could accelerate the timeline, with work potentially starting as early as April, according to Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro.
Governor Lemus will kick off the new year with a working visit to Puerto Vallarta on January 3, alongside Municipal President Luis Munguía. The visit will include the announcement of major projects, such as a road node in the Las Juntas delegation, designed to streamline traffic through a joint state and municipal funding initiative.
At the municipal level, seven key projects were approved on December 30 to further improve urban infrastructure. These include rehabilitating sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and the median on Francisco Medina Ascencio Boulevard.
Additional improvements will address critical roads such as Guatemala Street in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood and the road to Boca de Tomates in Las Juntas.
Residents will also benefit from upgraded parks, including Lázaro Cárdenas, Hidalgo, Los Sauces, Los Mangos in El Progreso, and Magisterio Park. Street paving projects in neighborhoods such as Los Almacenes, Cristóbal Colón, Vidafel, and Playa Grande will improve accessibility, featuring cobblestones, mortar, and hydraulic concrete finishes.
Educational facilities will see enhancements with the construction of domes at Fausto Prieto Sánchez elementary school in Lomas del Coapinole, Juan Escutia kindergarten in Ixtapa, and secondary school #84 in Buenos Aires.
These strategic developments reflect Puerto Vallarta’s commitment to growth and improved living standards, ensuring a better-connected and more livable city for years to come.
