Puerto Vallarta Pursues 35th Water Quality Approval

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México – Puerto Vallarta continues to solidify its reputation as a leader in public health and infrastructure as the city’s water utility, SEAPAL, officially enters the final stages of renewing its prestigious Water Quality Certification.

SEAPAL’s General Director, Carlos Ruiz, recently met with officials from the Jalisco State Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (COPRISJAL) to submit the extensive technical documentation required for the 2026 evaluation. This proactive step ensures that the city maintains a remarkable legacy, as SEAPAL has successfully secured this recognition for 34 consecutive years. This long-standing achievement distinguishes Puerto Vallarta on a regional level, as SEAPAL remains the only public water agency in the state of Jalisco to consistently meet these rigorous sanitary standards.

The certification process involves a meticulous review of water treatment protocols and distribution safety, proving that the local supply remains safe for daily consumption. By prioritizing these high standards, the utility effectively supports the health of local families while maintaining a reliable foundation for the city’s essential services.

The commitment to clean water also serves as a cornerstone for the local economy. Under the direction of Mayor Luis Munguía, the certification has become a primary objective for the City Council to ensure Puerto Vallarta remains a competitive and trustworthy destination.

When travelers choose this coastal city, they do so with the assurance that the municipal water system meets the highest federal safety benchmarks in Mexico. This level of transparency fosters a sense of security for international visitors and residents alike.

The renewal of this certification reflects a broader dedication to excellence and sustainability. By maintaining such a high standard of purity for over three decades, SEAPAL demonstrates that consistent investment in infrastructure pays lasting dividends for the community.

As the evaluation process moves forward, the city looks toward another year of providing safe, high-quality water that sustains both the people and the prestige of Puerto Vallarta.
