Puerto Vallarta has witnessed a remarkable decline in crime, thanks to the proactive measures of Luis Munguía’s administration. Under the guidance of the Public Security Commission, the city has seen a steady decrease in crime rates from November 2024 to February 2025, reinforcing its commitment to safety and order.
According to official data, crimes such as motorcycle, vehicle, business, home, and personal robberies have significantly declined. In November 2024, 203 cases were reported. By December, this number dropped to 87, followed by 76 in January and 66 in February. This represents an impressive 67% reduction in just four months.
The success of these efforts is largely due to increased security operations. Authorities conducted 256 operations, targeting illegal motorcycles, enforcing breathalyzer tests, and strengthening overall law enforcement. Additionally, 99 stolen vehicles and motorcycles have been recovered, and 886 individuals have been arrested. Law enforcement also took action against 1,615 motorcycles for various infractions.
These results highlight the firm commitment of the Munguía administration to public safety. Close collaboration with the Public Security Commission and institutions at all levels of government has been crucial in achieving these positive changes.
The progress made underscores Puerto Vallarta’s dedication to creating a secure and orderly environment for residents and visitors alike.
