Puerto Vallarta, México – The Physical Activity for Seniors program, known as AFAM, is set to return to Puerto Vallarta this month, offering local residents a dedicated space for health and community connection. Organized by the Municipal Sports Council (COMUDE) under the leadership of William Arredondo and the current city administration, the initiative focuses on enhancing the well-being and mobility of the city’s older population.
Beginning March 10th, participants will gather at the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Complex for sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. These classes provide a supportive environment where seniors can engage in exercises tailored to their needs. Under the guidance of experienced coordinator and instructor Elisa Palafox, the program aims to help residents maintain physical strength while fostering meaningful social bonds with their peers.
This community-driven effort emphasizes a holistic approach to aging by combining fitness with social interaction. By participating in regular movement, seniors can see significant improvements in their daily energy levels and overall quality of life. The inclusive atmosphere at the sports complex ensures that everyone, regardless of their current fitness level, feels welcome to join and stay active.
The program is offered at a monthly cost of 100 pesos, making it an accessible resource for those looking to prioritize their long-term health. Individuals interested in joining the upcoming sessions or seeking more information can register by calling 322 237 8166. This ongoing commitment from the government of Puerto Vallarta highlights the city’s dedication to promoting active, healthy lifestyles for all its citizens.
