Puerto Vallarta Students Return to School with Unprecedented Support

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – As students across Puerto Vallarta returned to school, they were greeted with a wave of support from the local government, led by Mayor Luis Munguía. The city’s commitment to education is on full display through the Mi Educación Renace (My Education Reborn) program, which provides essential resources to thousands of pupils.

This week, the Municipal Government began distributing more than 33,000 school kits to students at 240 schools. Each kit is packed with everything a student needs for a successful school year, including free uniforms, shoes, backpacks, and a full set of school supplies.

According to Mayor Munguía, this initiative marks a historic level of support for the city’s youth, with the Government of Jalisco and the Gobierno del Bien joining forces. The distribution, which began on September 2nd and will continue until the 8th, ensures that students have the tools they need from day one.

In addition to the basic school supplies, the city is also making significant strides in digital learning. In July, the local government delivered more than 8,000 electronic tablets to students, in an effort to help bridge the digital divide and expands educational opportunities for all. This focus on both traditional and modern learning tools demonstrates a comprehensive approach to student success.

New Dome Provides a Better Learning Environment

The positive impact of the city’s focus on education is already being felt. Students at Fausto Prieto Sánchez School in Lomas del Coapinole celebrated the official opening of their new dome, a project that was a top priority for years. The dome, delivered by Mayor Munguía and his team, will create a comfortable and safe space for students to enjoy both academic and recreational activities, rain or shine.

The school’s principal, Fátima Romero, and parent representative, Dora Luz Vázquez, both expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the new structure. They emphasized that the students deserve a proper space to learn and play. Mayor Munguía reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to educational infrastructure, promising to reclaim and improve schools that have been overlooked in the past.

In addition to the new dome, the mayor announced further improvements for the community, including renovations to the soccer field and Cartagena Street, enhancing the area for residents and students alike. The city’s focus on improving educational spaces and their surrounding communities signals a bright future for Puerto Vallarta’s students.
