Puerto Vallarta Tees Up Global Golf Tourism Success

From October 20th to 23rd, Puerto Vallarta took part in the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) 2025, held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. Over four days of meetings and networking, the city strengthened alliances across the global golf tourism sector, reinforcing its standing as a premier destination for golfers worldwide.

The international event brought together the most influential players in golf tourism, affirming its status as the world’s leading gathering for the industry. IGTM 2025 featured 268 exhibitors from 36 countries and attracted 300 key buyers representing 51 nations.

This included more than 50 buyers from Canada and the United States, alongside strong representation from crucial European markets like the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, plus participation from Asia with delegates from Japan and South Korea.

Puerto Vallarta’s delegation maximized the opportunity by holding 45 one-on-one meetings with influential buyers across established markets – including Spain, Italy, and the UK – and emerging destinations such as the United Arab Emirates, India, and Vietnam. Each meeting emphasized the region’s commitment to delivering exceptional golf experiences defined by the quality of its courses, outstanding hospitality, and luxurious amenities.

A central part of Puerto Vallarta’s presence was the presentation of its wide range of exclusive golf offerings. Visitors discovered tailor-made golf packages, special tournaments, and a variety of first-class accommodation options designed to create unforgettable golf vacations.

The Banderas Bay region offers an exceptional selection of golf courses, where players can enjoy championship-level greens framed by breathtaking views of the bay, ocean, and mountains. With premier venues such as Marina Vallarta Golf Club, El Tigre Golf Club, and the courses at Punta Mita and Vidanta, the Vallarta-Nayarit metropolitan area has become a standout destination on the Mexican Pacific. Its reputation is further reinforced by hosting the prestigious Mexico Open for the past four consecutive years.

IGTM 2025 also introduced an innovative Discovery Zone, dedicated to showcasing emerging technologies and brands shaping the future of golf tourism. Puerto Vallarta’s participation in this dynamic environment strengthened its appeal to both traditional and luxury travel segments.

Through its proactive engagement at IGTM 2025, Puerto Vallarta deepened its ties with the global golf community and reinforced its image as one of Mexico’s leading golf destinations. These connections promise continued growth and a strong future for golf tourism along the beautiful Pacific coast.
