Puerto Vallarta will soon see a major boost in its healthcare system with the construction of a Civil Hospital at the University Center of the Coast. Governor Pablo Lemus shared the news with Puerto Vallarta Mayor Luis Munguía during a historic event at the University of Guadalajara (UdeG), where Professor Karla Alejandrina Planter Pérez was inaugurated as the university’s first female general rector.
Mayor Munguía expressed his deep appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing its significance in strengthening local healthcare services. “I thank the governor and reaffirm my commitment to working together to build a better Puerto Vallarta for our citizens and visitors,” he stated.
The new Civil Hospital is part of a broader strategy to develop a network of civil hospitals in partnership with the Jalisco university network. This initiative is designed to address the growing need for medical professionals and specialists in the region.
Governor Lemus highlighted the importance of this model, which follows the globally recognized teaching hospital system, ensuring that future doctors receive hands-on training while providing high-quality care to the community.
This announcement marks a major step forward in improving healthcare access in Puerto Vallarta. With the combined efforts of the state government and local leadership, the project reinforces a commitment to advancing health and education, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
