Puerto Vallarta to Welcome a Total of 27 Cruise Ships in January

Puerto Vallarta has welcomed the new year with a surge in international tourist cruise arrivals, setting a promising tone for the coastal destination’s tourism industry. The first week of January saw double cruise arrivals on January 2, 3, and 4, with the National Geographic ships Sea Lion and Sea Bird, alongside Greenpeace’s Arctic Sunrise, making a grand entrance on the 5th.

This exciting trend is set to continue, with a total of 21 additional arrivals anticipated throughout the month.

The Administration of the National Port System (ASIPONA) of Puerto Vallarta revealed that Silversea Cruises’ Silver Shadow is expected to bring 466 passengers and crew members today. Following this, the busy cruise calendar includes the double arrival of the Discovery Princess and the MS Insignia on January 10, and the Navigator Of The Seas on January 12.

As January progresses, the third week promises two more double arrivals, the Island Princess and the Norwegian Bliss on the 15th, followed by the Carnival Panorama and the MS Zaandam on the 16th. Subsequent arrivals include the Discovery Princess on the 17th and the Seven Seas Mariner on January 18.

The fourth week of January will kick off with the arrival of the MS Zaandam on the 22nd, followed by another double arrival on the 23rd, featuring the Carnival Panorama and the Navigator Of The Seas. The Discovery Princess returns on the 24th, accompanied by the 1,260-passenger Artania on the 26th and the Crown Princess on the 27th.

The month concludes with the arrival of 1,338 passengers aboard Olsen Cruise Line’s Borealis on the 29th, followed by two more double arrivals, the Carnival Panorama and the MS Zuideram on the 30th, and the Crystal Serenity and the Discovery Princess on the 31st.

This surge in cruise traffic is a testament to Puerto Vallarta’s growing allure as a cruise destination. Compared to last year, the city is witnessing a significant increase in arrivals, and the trend is expected to continue as the global cruise industry expands. With several new ships scheduled to be inaugurated in the coming years, the future looks bright for Puerto Vallarta’s nautical tourism scene.
