Puerto Vallarta Welcomes Eight Cruise Ships in September

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The low season for international cruise tourism winds down this September, bringing a welcome boost to the local economy. The month begins with a double arrival on Tuesday, September 2nd, as both the Carnival Panorama and the Navigator of the Seas dock in the city.

According to the National Port System Administration (ASIPONA), eight cruise ships are scheduled to dock in September – nearly triple August’s count. Three of those visits will come from Carnival Panorama, returning on September 16 and 30 after its first stop at the start of the month.

Another double arrival is planned for Monday, September 22nd, bringing the Celebrity Summit and the Serenade of the Seas to the port at the same time. The schedule also includes additional visits from the Navigator of the Seas on the 23rd and the Ruby Princess on the 29th.

This renewed activity builds on a successful trend for the year. From January to July, Puerto Vallarta hosted 93 cruise ships, bringing over 296,000 passengers and generating a significant economic impact of more than 491 million pesos. While August had fewer ships, the city still welcomed approximately 18,000 visitors, including both passengers and crew.

Though September is still part of the low season, the increased activity offers service providers, many of whom depend on cruise passengers, a steadier outlook. The city looks ahead to October, when the high season begins, bringing an even greater flow of cruise tourism.

As the city transitions out of the low season, it continues to provide a memorable experience for all who visit. Puerto Vallarta is known for its warm hospitality and is ready to greet cruise passengers with opportunities for adventure, relaxation, and a taste of Mexican culture.
