
Puerto Vallarta, México – As spring travel season begins, Puerto Vallarta is welcoming visitors with a diverse lineup of events, festivals, and outdoor experiences throughout March. From music and food festivals to art showcases and major sporting events, the month offers something for every traveler exploring the shores of Banderas Bay.
March is one of the most active months of the year in the destination, with celebrations of culture, gastronomy, and the arts alongside large conventions and sporting competitions that attract thousands of visitors.
Food and Cultural Events
Music lovers can enjoy the Spring Jazz Festival from March 12–22, celebrating its 30th anniversary with ten days of free outdoor performances by international jazz musicians on the sands of Los Muertos Beach.
The region’s traditional spirit takes center stage during the Damajuana Raicilla Festival, March 13–15 at the Cuale Cultural Center. Now in its ninth year, the event features tastings, music, and educational presentations highlighting the heritage and production of raicilla.
On March 14, the Amapas Neighborhood Association hosts its third annual Rock the River Fundraiser at La Huerta BBQ & Grill. The afternoon gathering includes live music, food, and community activities benefiting the association’s Road to Safety initiative.
Also taking place March 14–15, the PVR Michelada Festival returns for its fourth edition at the Puerto Mágico Maritime Terminal. More than 30 exhibitors will showcase creative versions of the popular Mexican beer cocktail.
Later in the month, the community comes together on March 19 for the Vallarta Cares Spring Fair, held on Isla del Río Cuale. Games, music, food, and raffles help raise funds to support meals and essential assistance for families in need throughout the region.

Art and Creative Experiences
Art enthusiasts can meet local and international creators during Meet the Artists Night at Galleria Dante on March 20. Guests can watch artists paint and sculpt live while enjoying conversation, wine, and tapas in the Romantic Zone.
Every Wednesday evening, visitors can also explore the celebrated Centro Histórico ArtWalk. The weekly event opens the doors of 18 downtown galleries, allowing guests to discover works by artists from Mexico and around the world.
Sports and Outdoor Adventures
Nature lovers still have time to witness one of the region’s most spectacular seasonal experiences. The official whale watching season in Banderas Bay continues through March 23, offering some of the best chances to observe migrating Humpback whale in their natural habitat.
Cycling enthusiasts can take part in the Ruta Turística Puerto Vallarta on March 21. Beginning at Puerto Mágico Maritime Terminal, riders will choose from 21, 72, or 100-kilometer routes that follow scenic coastal roads toward Punta de Mita.
The following day, the Seapal Vallarta Half Marathon commemorates World Water Day with 21K and 5K races starting at the Puerto Vallarta Municipal Stadium.

Conventions and Meetings
March also brings several major events to the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center.
From March 10–12, the Gala Puerto Vallarta & Riviera Nayarit celebrates its 31st edition, bringing together tourism leaders and travel trade partners from Mexico, Canada, the United States, and other international markets.
Hospitality professionals will gather again March 18–20 for Exphotel Vallarta 2026, where more than 200 suppliers will present products and services to roughly 2,500 buyers from across the tourism industry.
Later in the month, on March 26, the venue hosts the Food & Travel Reader Awards, marking the 30th edition of the prestigious recognition honoring excellence in Mexico’s culinary and hospitality sectors.
With its mix of festivals, outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, and international gatherings, Puerto Vallarta continues to offer travelers a wide range of memorable activities throughout the month of March.
