Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – JW Paws Alliance, the dedicated volunteer group behind the city’s beloved pet-centered charity events, has officially announced the First Annual Puppy Love Valentine Pet Parade. Scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, in Parque Lázaro Cárdenas, this inaugural celebration builds on the momentum of the organization’s previous successes to spotlight the importance of animal rescue during the peak of the winter season.
The festivities are designed to engage both locals and visitors through a variety of creative activities. Attendees can enjoy live music and browse a community gathering before participating in the “Cutest Rescue Dog” contest. For those looking to capture memories, the event will feature a “Dogue” magazine cover backdrop for high-fashion photos and a charming Valentine-themed kissing booth. As the afternoon progresses, the celebration will transition into a scenic sunset dog walk along the Malecón, creating a beautiful spectacle of community spirit.
Beyond the entertainment, the heart of the event lies in its commitment to local animal welfare. A raffle drawing will feature an array of luxury prizes donated by generous local businesses, including romantic hotel stays, VIP cabana experiences with champagne, and adventurous ATV tours. Every peso raised through these donations will go directly to The Sula Society, an organization that has become a vital lifeline for displaced animals in the region.
The Sula Society’s story began in 2017 as a modest, volunteer-driven effort by Barbara and Lisa, a mother-daughter team from England. Over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive rescue operation that currently provides medical care, nutrition, and rehabilitation for more than 300 dogs.
The society’s approach is holistic; in 2021, they expanded their services to include professional training and agility programs led by expert trainer Roy. These initiatives ensure that every dog is well-socialized and prepared for a successful transition into a permanent home.
This mission of compassion extends far beyond the shelter walls. The Sula Society facilitates international adoptions by coordinating flights for rescue dogs to families across Canada and the United States. Additionally, they provide essential veterinary funding for low-income families in Puerto Vallarta, ensuring that cherished pets can stay with the owners who love them.
By attending the Puppy Love Valentine Pet Parade, supporters are not just enjoying a day of community fun – they are contributing to a lasting legacy of care and protection for the city’s most vulnerable animals.
