Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – On Sunday, March 13, 2022, some of Puerto Vallarta’s finest men will get ‘all dolled up,’ donning make-up, wigs, dresses and high heels, and take the stage at Teatro Vallarta to compete in the 8th edition of ‘What A Drag,’ Puerto Vallarta’s annual drag competition for straight men.

When the creators of ‘What A Drag’ came up with the idea of asking their straight male friends (and in many cases their husbands) to dress up in drag and perform on stage as a fundraiser for the Casa Esperanza Women Shelter and Compassion for the Family, they had no idea they were creating what would become one of the season’s most anticipated social events Puerto Vallarta.

And if you’ve ever attended, you know why. Every year, straight men trade in their sneakers for stilettos and get up on stage to make a stand against domestic violence, while entertaining the audience with their hilarious antics.

Each contestant has a Fairy Drag Mother to help them with costuming, makeup and talent, and ‘Miss What a Drag’ is selected by the audience. Watching these brave straight men bravely and brazenly vie for the ‘Miss What A Drag’ crown in a competition that includes talent – from hilarious skits to singing, dancing and lip-synching – to evening wear and racy Q & A rounds, is an experience you won’t soon forget.

What is more, this event provides over 1/3 of the annual budget for the Casa Esperanza Women’s Shelter, which acts as a support system for countless Banderas Bay area women and children caught in an abusive relationship.

Make plans now to attend the eighth annual ‘What A Drag’ musical variety show on Sunday, March 13 at Teatro Vallarta. You’ll enjoy an evening of music, dancing, hilarious theater and tons of fun – all for a good cause!

VIP Tickets are available for a donation of $1500 pesos. General Admission Tickets are $900 pesos, and Gallery Tickets are just $600 pesos. This fun and fabulous event sells out every year, so don’t delay, contact Freda Thompson at fredafish(at)hotmail.com, or 322-221-5180, to get your tickets TODAY!
