Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The holiday season brings a spirit of generosity, and the community of Puerto Vallarta is embracing that sentiment through two unique fundraisers designed to benefit the children of Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza (RISE).
This shelter provides a sanctuary of safety, stability, and hope for young people facing homelessness or instability in their own homes. These events offer enjoyable ways for the community to contribute to a meaningful cause while celebrating the festive atmosphere.

A day of friendly competition is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, with the RAISE for R.I.S.E. Charity Golf Tournament. Golf enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to participate in this four-person team scramble, promising a pleasant day outdoors. The tournament, which will take place at Flamingos Golf Club, serves as a way to unite the community for a fun and supportive cause.
The format is a 4-ball scramble: all four players hit their drive, and the best shot is selected as the starting point for the next round of shots, continuing this process until a ball is sunk and the score is recorded. Registration for the tournament begins at 11:30 am, with a shotgun start slated for 1:00 pm.
The cost is 2,190 pesos per person, which covers golf, dinner, awards, and the donation. Members of Flamingos Pass can participate for 725 pesos. Interested participants should make reservations and payments at the Pro Shop by December 7, or direct questions to Billy(at)RISEPV.com.

Following the golf event, the focus shifts to a heartwarming evening of music and talent on Sunday, December 15, with Niños de Navidad. This festive musical event celebrates the gifted young performers of Puerto Vallarta, many of whom have showcased their skills in previous “So, You Think You Can RISE” talent shows.
The special night will be hosted by Gouda Gabor and Nacho Granados and will feature an incredible lineup of local youth, including Angelo, the recent winner of La Voz de Zapopan, alongside other talented vocalists and instrumentalists.
This occasion is not only entertaining but also structured to give back: 50% of all ticket sales will support the child performers, while the remaining 50% will directly benefit the children residing at the RISE Children’s Shelter.
Doors for Niños de Navidad open at 7:00 pm, with the show beginning at 7:30 pm, upstairs at Nacho Daddy, located at 287 Basilio Badillo. Tickets are available for $540.55 MXN on eventbrite.com. The evening provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the music, the seasonal spirit, and a beautiful community night filled with shared purpose.
By taking part in either the competitive golf outing or the heartwarming musical showcase, members of the community can ensure the children at the RISE shelter receive essential support during the holiday season.
Every contribution, whether achieved through a swing on the green or a purchased ticket to the concert, directly translates into greater safety and renewed hope for these deserving young people, making these events an uplifting way to share the seasonal spirit and strengthen the area’s dedication to its youth.

R.I.S.E. (Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza) is a privately funded, 50-bed children’s shelter in Puerto Vallarta, providing a loving environment for children who are “at risk” at home or have no home. These resilient children range in age from newborn to mid-teens. For 20 years RISE has operated with a combination of a great staff and a team of volunteers that keep RISE running. RISE is 100% funded through private donations and fundraising is a huge part of our ability to provide these children with nutritional meals, education, medical and dental services, activities, clothing & more.
