Riviera Nayarit Getting Ritzier

The Riviera Nayarit region is already known for its luxury and boho-luxe offerings in destinations like Punta de Mita and Sayulita, but the coastline is primed for five-star development. One upcoming addition is the residential community Susurros del Corazón.

An Auberge Resorts Collection property, Susurros del Corazón will sit on 33 acres overlooking the Bay of Banderas from the beachfront of Punta de Mita.

The development will consist of an Auberge Collection resort as well as residences, including 59 suites and 30 homes. In addition to five-star accommodations, Susurros del Corazón will have four dining concepts, a 3,000-square-foot fitness center and yoga studio, a kids’ club and the Auberge Spa.

When it opens later this year, Susurros del Corazón will feature 2,000 feet of beach to go along with an adults-only pool and two family pools.

In addition, the resort complex will be located near the Punta Mita residential community, which includes the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, the St. Regis Resort Punta Mita and two Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses.

But the luxury development in Nayarit doesn’t end there. In 2021, the destination will see the opening of the 415-room Dreams Punta de Mita Resort & Spa and the 200-room Secrets Punta de Mita Resort & Spa.

For several years, the community has been awaiting the arrival of the Costa Canuva development, which will open in 2022 with a Fairmont and a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. Costa Canuva is a nearly $2 billion master-planned community that was announced in 2016.

Three other resorts are slated to open as part of the development, though they have not yet been announced. Rosewood will open its fourth property in Mexico in 2023 with the Rosewood Residences Mandarina in Nayarit. This property will feature 130 guest rooms, suites and villas.

Looking back to 2020, the Riviera Nayarit welcomed the Conrad Punta de Mita, the One&Only Mandarina and the Occidental Nuevo Vallarta.
