December 30 Update: Branden & James have replaced their Saturday night performances of ‘The Lady Gaga Songbook’ with a new show, ‘Broadway at The Beach,’ which they will be playing every Sunday night at 8:00 pm, starting January 3, 2021.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Returning for their 5th season, Puerto Vallarta favorites, cello and vocal duo Branden & James, are back with a brand-new show, ‘The Lady Gaga Songbook.’ Their show is featured every Wednesday at 6:30 pm and every Saturday at 8:00 pm all season at The Palm Cabaret and Bar in Zona Romantica.
As one of the best-selling music artists of all time, Lady Gaga’s music has ranged from pop to jazz, to film soundtracks. Branden & James explore Gaga’s career to date, celebrating her performances with their classical spin and unique charm.
Branden & James “have become a brand-name in the classical crossover music world alongside the likes of Josh Groban, The Piano Guys and Jackie Evancho” (The Bay Area Reporter, San Francisco.) Since their inception in 2015, the cello and vocal duo have been defying odds by reinventing the rules when it comes to classical crossover music. Branden says, “people tell us we’re so unique and different. I think that’s what excites us most. We’re actually doing something that hasn’t been done before.”
As a duo, they have travelled around the world playing in concert halls, cabaret venues, and luxury cruise lines. They recently collaborated with Broadway veteran Shoshana Bean on their debut album “Chasing Dreams” and are set to launch a 70-city U.S. tour in 2021-2022.
As individuals, Australian cellist James Clark is an arranger, orchestrater and concert pianist who has played alongside stars such as Idina Menzel & Olivia Newton-John. America’s Got Talent finalist, Branden James, a native of California recently penned his first book, an award-winning memoir, Lyrics Of My Life published in September 2020.
You will definitely want to put Branden & James’ ‘The Lady Gaga Songbook’ on your must-see list of things to see while in Vallarta. Branden’s voice is beyond compare and James’ musical arrangements and accompaniment are spectacular. And who doesn’t love a cello played to perfection by a master musician! We have installed a new retractable roof for air flow, and have installed a new filter air system to take old air out and bring fresh air in. Our customers are protected by Plexiglas shields in front and on the sides of their personal seating area, and we’ve limited our capacity to 60 people (not 130) per show. Masks must be worn to your seats and to the rest rooms. Masks may be removed upon entering your Plexiglas area.
