Puerto Vallarta, México – The Vallarta Botanical Garden will once again celebrate the region’s remarkable wildlife with the XIV Vallarta Bird & Nature Festival, taking place March 27–28, 2026. This popular annual event invites residents and visitors to explore the area’s rich ecosystems while learning more about the birds and plants that make the region unique.

For more than 20 years, the Vallarta Botanical Garden has been a leader in environmental education and conservation in the region. The organization is dedicated to studying, preserving, and displaying native Mexican plants while promoting appreciation for the country’s extraordinary biodiversity among both locals and international visitors.

During the two-day festival, participants will have the chance to discover the natural wonders that surround Puerto Vallarta. More than 300 bird species are known to inhabit the region, making it one of Mexico’s most rewarding destinations for birdwatching.

The festival program features guided birdwatching tours designed for both adults and children, offering participants the opportunity to observe a wide variety of species in their natural habitats. In addition, expert-led talks will explore conservation efforts and the importance of protecting regional ecosystems.

Hands-on workshops and family-friendly activities will also be offered throughout the event, encouraging visitors of all ages to connect with nature in meaningful ways. Photographers, eco-travelers, and wildlife enthusiasts alike will find plenty of opportunities to learn, explore, and share their passion for the outdoors.

More than just a birdwatching event, the Vallarta Bird & Nature Festival highlights the importance of conservation and community involvement in protecting the natural treasures of the region. By bringing together scientists, educators, and nature lovers, the festival helps build awareness and appreciation for the biodiversity that defines the area.

All festival activities are included with regular Garden admission, priced at 300 pesos per person. Entry is free for Garden members. Visitors are invited to spend the weekend immersed in nature while celebrating the wildlife and landscapes that make Puerto Vallarta such a special place.

Visit the internationally famous Vallarta Botanical Garden located just 30 minutes south of Old Town at Km. 24 on Highway 200 and easily accessible by public transportation and taxi. This 135 hectares wildlife preserve and botanical garden have something fun for everyone. Over 200 species of birds have been observed on the Garden’s grounds. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit for a refreshing dip in the jungle river. See plantings of vanilla, chocolate, and hundreds of other botanical delights! Authentic Mexican Cuisine is served in the Hacienda de Oro Restaurant from 10 am to 5 pm. The Garden is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm (closed Mondays from April 1 to December 1).
