Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The spirit of community and dedication to well-being continue to flourish in Puerto Vallarta, thanks to the tireless efforts of Vallarta Cares. This remarkable nonprofit organization, which began as a heartfelt response to the pandemic in 2020, has grown into an essential pillar of support for thousands, consistently transforming lives with its wide-ranging initiatives.
In a recent display of their commitment, Vallarta Cares took swift and decisive action to address a pressing health concern in the Bobadilla neighborhood. Residents and local media had reported the alarming condition of the Olympic-sized community pool, which, due to neglect, had become a breeding ground for mosquitoes carrying diseases like dengue fever. Recognizing the potential risk to public health, the organization stepped in without hesitation.
Jimmy Plouff, logistics director and co-founder of Vallarta Cares, personally visited the site to evaluate the situation and coordinate with staff from the Municipal Sports Council (COMUDE). This collaborative effort led to the swift implementation of a plan to completely drain the pool.
The operation, spanning three days, involved the continuous dedication of the Vallarta Cares team and the strategic use of three motor pumps. Today, the pool stands empty and ready for necessary repairs, paving the way for it to once again become a safe and enjoyable recreational hub for local families.
Beyond this crucial preventative measure, Vallarta Cares remains deeply involved in comprehensive social support programs. Their impactful work includes vital food deliveries, access to basic medical and dental care, much-needed showers for homeless individuals, empowering workshops for women, rapid relief efforts during natural disasters, and engaging activities for senior citizens.
Vallarta Cares warmly invites locals and visitors to contribute to their vital work through donations. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly enhances the lives of Puerto Vallarta’s most vulnerable residents.
