The organization’s general director, Luis Antonio Villaseñor Nolasco, shared the optimistic forecast, highlighting the city’s popularity during this festive time.
“For Christmas week, we are anticipating occupancy rates above 80 to 85 percent, and as we approach the end of the year, particularly on the New Year’s Eve and the first days of January, we expect a full house at 99 to 100 percent,” Villaseñor Nolasco stated. The director emphasized that the high demand begins days before, with levels exceeding 95 percent, as people flock to experience the city’s holiday charm.
Noting the recent conclusion of the Guadeloupan pilgrimages, Villaseñor Nolasco highlighted that Puerto Vallarta remains a preferred destination during the Christmas and New Year holidays, including Three Kings Day. The city’s appeal is attributed to the significant drop in temperatures in various parts of Mexico and key international markets, such as the United States and Canada.
“We have very high expectations for the end of the year. This year, we’ve consistently surpassed occupancy levels, and we anticipate closing with an average between 72 and 75 percent. Air tourism has experienced double-digit growth, contributing to a positive year-end and setting the stage for a strong start to the new year,” he added.
The holiday boom doesn’t stop there. With the Mexican school vacation starting from December 18th, families will flood the city, making road trips a popular option alongside air travel. This puts Puerto Vallarta at an advantage compared to other beach destinations, as its accessibility by land attracts even more visitors.
