Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta’s streets are alive with murals that tell stories, turning urban art into a force for positive change. To celebrate and expand this creative spirit, the Vallarta Institute of Culture (IVC), under the leadership of Guadalupe Gómez Basulto and supported by Mayor Luis Munguía’s administration, is hosting a free workshop titled “Theory and Application of Color in the Urban Landscape”.
This workshop, led by Dr. Jimena Vanina Odetti, is part of the Cultural Managers and Creators Training Program. It offers participants a fresh perspective on how color shapes the urban environment and can inspire social and cultural transformation.

Taking place on June 20 and 27 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Cuale Cultural Center, the sessions will cover both the theory behind color and its practical uses in artistic and community projects. Attendees will engage in hands-on exercises and group discussions aimed at reimagining public spaces and deepening their creative connection to the city.
Designed for artists, designers, architects, and anyone passionate about urban spaces, the workshop is free but limited in spots. Interested participants can register by messaging the IVC through their social media channels. Bringing a notebook, a camera-equipped phone, a laptop, and optional sketching materials is recommended.
This workshop is more than a training opportunity – it’s an invitation to see Puerto Vallarta in a new light and help shape its future through the transformative power of color.
