Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Since its first edition in 2005, Vallarta Restaurant Week has become one of the Banderas Bay region’s most sought-after culinary events.
Traditionally held from mid-May to mid-June, the 16th edition of this annual food festival was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is now set to take place from September 15 to October 10, 2020.
The new dates were decided by the event’s organizer, Vallarta Lifestyles Media Group, with the help of the 54 Banderas Bay area restaurants that are participating in this 16th edition, which will be carried out with the support of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, and the Riviera Nayarit Visitors and Conventions Bureau.
During these three weeks, participating restaurants will offer innovative three-course menus, with three options available for each course, to delight both residents and visitors seeking to explore the destination’s outstanding cuisine at a reduced price.
Menu prices for this year’s edition will be $289, $399 and $466 which, at some restaurants, represents a discount of up to 50 percent. These prices do not include tips and beverages. To see the list of participating restaurants and the menus they’ll be serving, visit the festival’s website.
Since dining out is a big part of Puerto Vallarta’s attraction, many foodies are excited to hear that Restaurant Week is just around the corner. And, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Banderas Bay area restaurants are in need of your support, so don’t miss the opportunity to experience new restaurants, or revisit your favorites, to enjoy fabulous food for a fraction of the normal price, from September 15 to October 10, 2020.
“Today more than ever, Restaurant Week serves its original purpose: to boost restaurant activity in our region during the time that it’s most needed. We deeply appreciate the support of the Banderas Bay area restaurants that are ready to work together to achieve this goal,” said Luis Mendoza, chief operations officer of Vallarta Lifestyles Media Group.
Restaurant Week History
Inspired by gastronomic festivals in other major tourist destinations around the globe, Restaurant Week was established to boost the local economy in a month that, at the time, was considered as “low season.” Nowadays, May is typically a very active month in which many events take place, but Restaurant Week quickly became one of the most popular. It is eagerly anticipated by locals and gourmet foodies from around the world, who plan an annual vacation in Puerto Vallarta specifically for this delicious festival. That’s why, in 2018, the event was extended to almost 4 weeks, which gives everyone the opportunity to experience more of the great and varied restaurants in the Banderas Bay area.
