Update:“We are very disappointed to announce that, due to Coronavirus concerns, the Puerto Vallarta Symphony is cancelling the spring concerts that were scheduled for March 22 and 23. The orchestra is taking this step as a precaution in our wish to prevent both our audience and musicians from being exposed to possible contagion. We appreciate your understanding, and hope you will be able to attend next season’s performances on December 13 & 14, 2020, February 7 & 8 and March 21 & 21, 2021. We wish you all good health in these challenging times.” – Orquesta Sinfónia de Vallarta, March 13, 2020
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta Symphonic Orchestra (PVSO) and Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta (IAMPV) are pleased to announce this year’s Spring concert performances, set to be held on Sunday and Monday, March 22 and 23, 2020.
Directed by Daniel Oliveros, the PVSO is an intercultural, cross generational group of over 50 local and international musicians from 10+ countries. Their Spring Concerts will include such a wide variety of music that there truly will be something for everyone.
In addition to classical favorites, like selections from Swan Lake by Peter Tchaikovsky and Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky, among other pieces; the orchestra will be performing Maurice Ravel’s Bolero, and Gonzanga con Cajones y Cueros and Concerto for Timpani by Cuban composer Jorge Lopez Martin, featuring percussionist Gustavo Ramos.
The first performance of this concert will be on Sunday, March 22 at The American School of Puerto Vallarta, Albatros 129, Marina Vallarta; and the second on Monday, March 23 at Salon Paraiso, Paseo de los Cocoteros 67, Nuevo Vallarta.
Both concerts begin at 7:00 pm. Admission is $200 pesos for adults and 80 pesos for children. Tickets are available at iampv.org or at the door.
These concerts are two very special evenings that you do not want to miss, so be sure to mark your calendar for March 22 and 23, 2020.
The PVSO is part of a non-profit organization, Instituto de Artes Musicales, an educational music institute whose mission is to bring the joy of music to the children and young adults of the greater Puerto Vallarta area. This is accomplished through a comprehensive program with many levels of instruction and different musical disciplines. Musical instruments are provided to beginning students.
