Vallarta Pride Returns with a Celebration of Unity and Expression

Puerto Vallarta is once again rolling out the rainbow carpet for Vallarta Pride, returning May 17–25 with a powerful message: “Revolution: The Future Has No Gender.” This internationally celebrated LGBTQ+ festival invites thousands of visitors to Mexico’s most welcoming coastal destination for nine unforgettable days of community, creativity, and celebration.

Now in its 12th year, Vallarta Pride has grown from a small grassroots effort into a global event that reflects Puerto Vallarta’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity. Nestled along the beautiful Banderas Bay, the city pairs old-world charm with a dynamic cultural scene, drawing praise from around the world. In fact, Puerto Vallarta was recently named “Best LGBTQ+ Destination” at the 2024 Magellan Awards.

Centered in the lively Romantic Zone, Vallarta Pride 2025 will feature art shows, beach parties, parades, and community gatherings that highlight the city’s vibrant LGBTQ+ identity and its place as a leader in equality and acceptance.

This year’s standout events include:

• March Against Homophobia (May 17): Kicking off Pride Week, this peaceful march begins at 6:00 pm in front of the Municipal Stadium. It’s a call for love, respect, and unity in the fight against discrimination.
• Photo Exhibition: “There is No Future Without Memory” (May 17): Hosted at Ryan Donner & Associates at 8:00 pm, this moving exhibit honors LGBTQ+ history through powerful images and stories.
Pet Parade and Sunset Dog Walk (May 19): Starting at 6:00 pm in Lázaro Cárdenas Park, this charming event leads pets and their owners to the Malecón Arches, followed by a costume contest that promises tail-wagging fun.
• Pride Parade (May 22): The heart of the festival, the Pride Parade begins at 4:00 pm in front of the Municipal Stadium, winding through the city and down the Malecón in a spectacular display of color and joy.
• Block Party (May 22): Following the parade, Lazaro Cardenas Street becomes the site of a massive celebration with DJs, live performers, and nonstop entertainment under the stars.
• Drag Derby (May 23): At 5:00 pm on Calle Pulpito, fierce queens compete in a high-heeled race for glory, laughs, and the coveted Ruby Tacon trophy.
• Carrera Rainbow Run (May 25): This family-friendly 3K and 6K fun run starts at 6:00 pm along the scenic Malecón, open to all fitness levels.

Vallarta Pride 2025 is more than a festival – it’s a reflection of a city that celebrates every identity and walks proudly toward a more inclusive future.
