Vallarta’s Olas Altas Farmers’ Market Returns November 1

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The countdown is on for the start of one of Puerto Vallarta’s most cherished weekend traditions: the Olas Altas Farmers’ Market. This popular attraction is set to begin its 17th season on Saturday, November 1, creating a weekly meeting place for both residents and visitors at Lázaro Cárdenas Park. The market will welcome shoppers every Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm throughout the season.

The market provides a wonderful opportunity to support local talent and enterprise. With approximately 100 vendors, the event highlights the creativity and talent of producers living within 50 miles of Puerto Vallarta. Shoppers can find everything from fresh, farm-to-table produce and handmade foods to one-of-a-kind crafts and art. The air is filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread and coffee, while stalls brim with meats, cheeses, pastries, and other specialties.

Beyond the culinary delights, shoppers can explore an impressive collection of arts and crafts. Vendors display everything from custom-designed bathing suits and sandals to elegant jewelry, home accessories, and all-natural skincare products. The market’s authentic feel is further enhanced by offerings like traditional Mexican musical instruments and hand-rolled cigars.

The experience extends beyond shopping and browsing. Attendees can also find services such as chiropractic care and professional massages available on-site. Nonprofit organizations also take part, setting up booths to share information about community initiatives and upcoming events, fostering a strong sense of community involvement.

The food court is always a key attraction, offering a mouthwatering selection of dishes from various international and local cuisines, including Mexican, Argentine, and East Indian. Ice cream, beverages, and baked treats make it easy to snack while exploring the market’s colorful stalls. The festive mood is amplified by live music every Saturday, performed by a diverse range of popular local bands.

The Olas Altas Farmers’ Market is located in Lazaro Cárdenas Park (kitty-corner from Daiquiri Dick’s at the corner of Carranza and Olas Altas). As people wander through the area, they can enjoy the sight of the beautiful mosaic artwork in the park, a lovely tribute to the Banderas Bay region’s rich culture.

The Olas Altas Farmers’ Market prides itself on being a truly welcoming and accessible destination for everyone. Its pet-friendly policy and wheelchair accessibility ensure a smooth visit for all guests. For those driving, convenient underground parking is available.
