Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Vinoma Fest, Puerto Vallarta’s first Wine and Pairing Festival, will take place from March 17 to 20 at various venues throughout the city. But on March 19 and 20, it will be headquartered at Puerto Mágico, where wine lovers will be able to sample the best labels in the country, along with some of the city’s best food and entertainment.
This festival will be unique in its kind, because in addition to bringing together more than 40 wineries and around 200 Mexican labels, it will present a selection of 15 select gastronomic proposals from restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, which, together with renowned chefs and sommeliers, will make the suggestions of the best pairing for each of the participating wines.
It is important to point out that training congresses will also be held which, under the name of “The Land of the New World”, will bring together professionals from the industry, such as: oenologists, sommeliers, winemakers and agronomists, who will share with students, hospitality and gastronomy industry workers and lovers of this drink, a series of conferences, talks, panels and specialized workshops focused on wine and food pairing.
The training congresses will be held at the Gourmet Station of the University of Guadalajara, located at the Ignacio Jacobo Regional High School in Puerto Vallarta. (See Google Map.) The program begins on Thursday, March 17 with the opening ceremony, and the first training congress begin on Friday, March 18 and will run from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm.
That same evening at 7:30 pm, a seven-course gala dinner, entitled: “The Wine Regions of Mexico”, will be held at Restaurante Gaviotas at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center in the Hotel Zone. Price: $1800 Pesos per person. For reservations, call 322-244-1549.
On Saturday, March 19, a cooking and pairing competition, called ¡Paladares a la obra! (palates to work), will be held, with each team using 5 ingredients to create a dish and pair it with a complementary wine from one of the participating wineries. The winner will receive a trophy and a special prize from the sponsors.
That same day, and again on Sunday, March 20, starting at 3 in the afternoon, all wine lovers will be able to taste the best labels in the country and the best culinary art in the city, as well as enjoy musical shows until 8 pm at Puerto Mágico, where 40 Mexican wineries will meet to jointly present more than 200 labels to the delight of visitors and residents of Vallarta.
