Works by the Multifaceted Artist AtNeri at Galleria Dante

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Galleria Dante, the largest and most eclectic art gallery in Puerto Vallarta, is now featuring selected works by the multifaceted artist AtNeri. Born in Jalisco, Mexico, in 1985, AtNeri—who grew up in Puerto Vallarta and embraces her Mexican, Canadian, and Italian heritage—draws inspiration from a rich blend of cultures. Her diverse background, including Mexican, Italian, French, and German roots, profoundly shapes her art.

AtNeri’s artistic journey began early, as she started painting at the age of eight. She honed her skills under the guidance of artists from New York and Boston, and later expanded her education at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. There, she studied under a diverse array of teachers, including Cuban, American, Canadian, Venezuelan, Italian, and French-Canadian artists. Her work impressed the university so much that in 2008, UBC acquired three of her pieces for their permanent collection.

Throughout her life, AtNeri has pursued a wide range of passions, from interior design and culinary arts to music and languages. As a young girl, she was deeply involved in crafts, music, and sports, which continue to influence her creative expression. Her love for learning and exploration drives her to continually evolve as an artist, often drawing inspiration from her travels.

AtNeri’s work primarily delves into the non-existent, imaginary, and imperfect, with a focus on abstract and androgynous portraiture, as well as abstract landscapes and figurative art. Her style, rooted in expressionism and impressionism, is characterized by its spontaneity and tactile nature. She approaches each blank canvas as an opportunity to express herself in the moment, manipulating paint and texture to create perfectly imperfect forms. Her work is deeply interactive, as she engages physically with the layers, embracing the imperfections that arise.

This upcoming season, AtNeri is set to explore new artistic avenues, including black-and-white portraiture with subtle hints of color, as well as sculpture and 3-dimensional wall pieces. Art enthusiasts will find this a thrilling opportunity to experience and acquire her latest work, as she continues to push the boundaries of her creative expression.
