Puerto Vallarta recently came together to celebrate the people who help shape the city’s future at the 2025 Premios Orgullo Vallartense (Vallarta Pride Awards). The heartfelt ceremony, held at Puerto Mágico, honored individuals and organizations whose contributions have left a positive mark on the community.
Organized by Francisco Quiñones and Leticia Sánchez, the seventh edition of the awards gathered Puerto Vallarta authorities, families, and members of the media for an unforgettable night of recognition and gratitude.
The awards recognized a diverse group of individuals and organizations that have significantly enriched Puerto Vallarta. Among this year’s honorees was Dr. Adolfo Tello Esparza, along with Karen Malacara Bustamante, president of the Andrea 3.21 Foundation. Business leaders Vicente Aguilar Sosa, Ra Aguilar, and Juan Carlos Rodríguez Robles were also recognized, as well as the Ejido El Jorullo, celebrated for their pioneering work in environmentally responsible ecotourism.
Other award recipients included iconic wrestler Manuel López Coronado, known as “Demonio Blanco,” artist Marcela Lepe Quiroz, sports advocate Javier Bravo, and Juan Antonio Salcedo, director of the Vallarta Azteca Ballet. The event also honored Meliss Leigh Canez, Nacho Daddy owners Tammy Jo Prust and Sean Joseph Moore, activist Estela Camacho, and Dr. Alejandro Rosales Medina for their selfless contributions to Puerto Vallarta’s well-being.
Event founder Francisco Quiñones highlighted that the Vallarta Pride Awards were created to recognize those who, through their dedication, projects, and service, have made Puerto Vallarta a city to be proud of. He also noted the importance of inclusive recognition, maintaining categories like “Mujer Orgullo Vallartense“, which celebrates female leadership since its introduction in 2022.
The City Council demonstrated its strong support for the event, with Dr. Paco Sánchez, the municipal trustee, attending on behalf of Mayor Luis Munguía. This participation underscored the government’s dedication to acknowledging the talent and hard work of its valued residents.
The 2025 Vallarta Pride Awards served as a joyful reminder of the positive impact individuals can have on their community, fostering a sense of pride and unity throughout Puerto Vallarta.
