Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Important date change! COVID Boosters (3rd dose) for adults over 60, and second shots for those over 18 years of age who received the first dose of AstraZeneca in October 2021, will now be administered at the La Lija Sports Center in Puerto Vallarta from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14, 2022.
However, it is important to note that the booster shots will only be administered to those over 60 who completed their initial vaccine series (1 or 2 doses, depending on the brand) at least six months ago. AstraZeneca will be the vaccine administered, regardless of which brand was used for the first vaccination(s).
Those wanting a booster shot should report to the “Salones de Cultura” rooms at La Lija, which will be marked by signs that say, “Refuerzo Para Adultos Mayores de 60 Años.” It is important to bring proof of previous vaccination(s) and a copy of the registration form for the booster, both of which are available on the federal website, mivacuna.salud.gob.mx.
At the same time, second doses will be given to younger people who received their first dose of AstraZeneca in October. Requirements include a new copy of the registration form, proof of your first vaccine, an official ID and proof of residence. Registration forms can be obtained at the federal mivacuna.salud.gob.mx website.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• No first doses will be administered on these dates.
• Those currently sick, those with COVID or who have had COVID within the last 30 days (one month), may not get vaccinated at this time.
