Help Ensure the Continued Success of the Cuale Clinic

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Cuale Clinic changed the way it operates this spring, going from appointments open to the public, to only providing sterilization for rescues and street animals.

During the last two years, it became obvious that there were more and more abandoned dogs and cats, and rescuers were straining with already limited resources. Many local clinics are unable to take multiple animals from one rescuer, so Cuale Clinic became the “rescuer’s rescuer”.

Free spay and neuter clinics are crucial to combating the issue of overpopulation in Puerto Vallarta. By sterilizing street animals, Cuale Clinic prevents unwanted dog and cat pregnancies, effectively curbing the number of stray animals roaming the streets. This not only improves the overall quality of life for these animals but also reduces the strain on animal shelters and rescue individuals and organizations.

Cuale Clinic provides a team of licensed veterinarians, medications and all the supplies. A clinic costs between $1,500 and $2,000 USD depending on the number of animals. Sadly, we’ve had to limit the number of animals we can accept recently due to funding limitations, but there is so much more need. One of our rescuers recently said “I could probably bring at least 80 to 100 rescues a month if the (spay & neuter) spaces were available”.

To ensure the continued success of the Cuale Clinic, we must secure funding as soon as possible. The clinic will be working with Paws and Claws Puerto Vallarta, a newly formed 501(c)(3) charity to ensure that all abandoned and stray animals have a chance for a better life.
