“Eleven years ago, the inaugural Vallarta Pride Festival took place in Lazaro Cardenas Park, and from those modest beginnings, it has blossomed into an internationally attended affair,” explained Javier Jimenez, president of Vallarta Pride. “Returning to Lazaro Cardenas Park for the Pride Sun Festival, we aim to create a three-day celebration embracing the LGBTQI+ community.”
Pride Sun Festival will showcase a main stage featuring both national and international performers, complemented by an exhibitor area, food and beverage stalls, and various surprises. Running approximately ten hours daily from Thursday, May 23, to Saturday, May 25, 2024, it promises non-stop entertainment.
Reflecting on the success of the 2023 Vallarta Pride Festival, which drew more than 6,000 attendees to the block party and witnessed a spectacular parade with 20,000 spectators and 2,000 participants, Jimenez expressed gratitude.
“The unprecedented celebration of 2023, made possible by attendees, participants, sponsors, and the community, shattered attendance records,” he added.
In addition to the Pride Sun Festival, attendees can look forward to the annual Pink Dinner, the Carrera Rainbow Run, an Art Exhibition, the Parade, and a Beach Party.
The much-anticipated annual parade, scheduled for Saturday, May 25, 2024, will commence at the Sheraton Hotel, with timing to be confirmed, concluding at One Six One PV Bar in the Romantic Zone.
A new highlight this year is the spectacular beach party slated for Saturday, May 25, 2024. The beach extravaganza perfectly encapsulates the “Sun and the Beach” theme, featuring stellar entertainment and surprises galore.
“This year, we will culminate with a spectacular beach celebration,” Jimenez said. “A grand stage on the sand, adorned with large screens and captivating visuals, will set the scene for entertainment and community connection with our DJs.”
Jimenez extended a warm invitation to Puerto Vallarta, a city known for its refined culture and dynamic local community, welcoming visitors from the national and international gay community to partake in the festivities.
