Puerto Vallarta Welcomes Czech Tourists with New Direct Flights

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – A new era of European tourism has dawned on Puerto Vallarta with the arrival of the inaugural direct flight from Prague, Czech Republic. The charter flight, operated by DER Touristik, touched down at the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport on October 29, bringing with it 402 eager travelers.

The weekly Tuesday flights, which will continue until April 2025, are expected to attract tourists from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Austria. This new connection will significantly boost the region’s tourism industry, generating economic benefits for local businesses and communities.

“We anticipate welcoming over 10,000 European visitors during the six-month period,” said Vanessa Pérez Lamas, Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco. “This new market will not only benefit Puerto Vallarta but also neighboring destinations like Tequila and Guadalajara.”

Local tourism officials expressed enthusiasm about the new flight, highlighting the diverse experiences Puerto Vallarta offers, from stunning beaches and authentic cultural experiences to lush natural landscapes.

“Puerto Vallarta is thrilled to welcome Czech visitors and showcase our unique blend of beauty and hospitality,” said Luis Villaseñor from the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust. “We are confident that they will be captivated by our stunning beaches, rich culture, and warm hospitality.”

For his part, Cryshtian José Amador Lizardi, director of the Puerto Vallarta Airport, highlighted that the air terminal continues to modernize its infrastructure to meet the growing demand of passengers. “The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is prepared to meet the growth derived from the connection between influential international destinations and our city. During 2023, more than 6.7 million passengers passed through our airport and with the inauguration of Terminal 2 in 2026, this number will multiply.”

Currently, Puerto Vallarta has air connections through 20 airlines that cover 55 direct national and international routes, which will see a great increase once Terminal 2 of the airport, currently under construction, is completed.
