Puerto Vallarta Tourist Police Ready to Serve This Holiday Season

Puerto Vallarta is prepared to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday season for visitors. The newly reinstated Tourist Police force, comprised of 113 dedicated officers, is ready to respond to any emergency that may arise in the city’s prime tourist areas.

Led by General Supervisor José Daniel Hernández Becerra, the Tourist Police will maintain a vigilant presence in the city center, the Malecón, and the popular neighborhoods of 5 de Diciembre, Emiliano Zapata, and Marina. Equipped with a fleet of patrol cars, ATVs, and bicycles, the officers are strategically positioned to swiftly address any situation.

To enhance tourist safety, the Tourist Police will initiate early morning patrols at 7 am, focusing on the Malecón and beaches in coordination with lifeguards. Throughout the day, officers will continue to patrol the city center, the Romantic Zone, and Marina Vallarta. As night falls, three shifts will be implemented to reinforce surveillance in high-traffic tourist areas, particularly along the boardwalk.

The Tourist Police officers are not only trained in emergency response but also in assisting foreign tourists. With conversational English skills, they are well-equipped to provide directions, information, and support to visitors.

The recent inauguration of the new Tourist Police force by Mayor Luis Munguía signifies a significant step towards enhancing public safety and tourist satisfaction in Puerto Vallarta. With their commitment to excellence and community service, the Tourist Police are poised to make a positive impact on the city’s tourism industry.
