Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Monterrey is getting ready for a surge in Easter holiday travel, especially for those dreaming of Puerto Vallarta’s sun-kissed beaches. A significant increase in flight options between the two cities was announced at the Fitur 2025 International Tourism Fair in Madrid, signaling a strong push to enhance Nuevo León’s connectivity and tourism.
Nuevo León Tourism Secretary, Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, met with Viva Aerobus leaders to discuss strategies for boosting regional tourism, emphasizing the crucial role of air travel in driving economic and tourist growth. “This strengthens Nuevo León’s connections and promotes the economic and tourist development of our region,” Martínez Villarreal explained, highlighting the collaborative partnership between the government and the airline.
Starting April 1st, getting to Puerto Vallarta from Monterrey becomes significantly easier. The route, currently offering 21 weekly flights, will expand to 25, adding four new frequencies each week. This 19% increase directly responds to the rising demand for travel to this popular coastal destination during the Easter season.
Walfred Castro, Communications Director for Viva Aerobus, shared his enthusiasm: “This is a great announcement for those looking to get out of the city during Semana Santa. Puerto Vallarta is an incredible destination thanks to its beautiful beaches.”
This boost in flights isn’t just good news for Monterrey residents. It also benefits those in Puerto Vallarta, providing them with more convenient options and schedules for visiting Monterrey and connecting to other national and international destinations served by Viva Aerobus.
The increased air connectivity is expected to boost tourism in both regions and facilitate cultural and economic exchange. More flights mean more opportunities for families to connect, for tourists to explore, and for businesses to thrive.
