CMQ Foundation Donates Beds to Puerto Vallarta Firefighters

Puerto Vallarta’s Civil Protection and Fire Department received a generous donation of 20 bunk beds and 40 mattresses from the CMQ Foundation, led by Dr. Jorge Villanueva. This contribution enhances the comfort of firefighters who work around the clock to protect the community.

Mayor Luis Munguía expressed deep gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its vital role in supporting the firefighters’ well-being. He further announced plans for the city to acquire additional equipment, ensuring the department remains well-equipped to handle any emergency.

Dr. Villanueva, recognizing the critical work performed by the firefighters, pledged continued support, with a special focus on empowering the women of the institution. He also commended Mayor Munguía for fostering a collaborative environment between the public and private sectors, facilitating joint efforts for the city’s economic and social progress.

This act of generosity underscores the power of collaborative initiatives in strengthening community resilience. It highlights the positive impact of private organizations working hand-in-hand with public services.

Building on this spirit of cooperation, Mayor Munguía recently traveled to Santa Barbara, California, to seek training opportunities and equipment donations for Vallarta’s emergency responders. Accompanied by city officials and fire department leaders, he met with Santa Barbara Mayor Randy Rowse and Sister Cities Committee president Marti Garcia.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Santa Barbara fire station, gaining valuable insights into their prevention strategies. Fire Chief Chris Mailes led the tour, sharing his expertise and his department’s experiences.

This exchange of knowledge, facilitated by the strong ties between the Puerto Vallarta-Santa Barbara sister city committee, paves the way for future collaborative projects that will enhance both community safety and the city’s overall development.
