Puerto Vallarta Volunteers Remove 6 Tons of Trash from Libramiento

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Last weekend, Puerto Vallarta took a major step toward a cleaner future by removing six tons of trash from the city’s Libramiento, or bypass. The cleanup effort was part of a campaign led by Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía to promote environmental awareness and civic pride.

Starting early at 7:30 am, the campaign brought together community members, city officials, and private organizations. Councilman Christian Omar Bravo Carbajal, head of the Clean, Free, and Certified Beaches Commission, joined forces with the Directorate of Efficient Services, Social Development, Youth and Municipal Management.

They were joined by volunteers from private entities like Red Ambiental and Red Rehabilita. This collective endeavor underscored a unified commitment to restoring the city’s aesthetic appeal and ensuring a healthier environment for its residents.

Javier Navarro, Director of Efficient Services, emphasized that the city is addressing long-standing neglect in public spaces. He highlighted the collaborative nature of the project, stating that the partnership between the municipal government and private companies exemplifies a shared dedication to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens and elevating the city’s appearance.

With years of accumulated junk and litter now cleared away, the cleanup shows what’s possible when a community works together. It’s a strong reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of caring for the environment.
