Puerto Vallarta marked Children’s Day on April 30th with the inauguration of “Tukilandia,” a brand-new children’s park in the Jardines del Puerto neighborhood. This exciting development, made possible by an investment exceeding 7.4 million pesos, is a key part of the local government’s initiative to revitalize five parks across the municipality.
The creation of “Tukilandia” underscores the Puerto Vallarta government’s dedication to providing secure, respectable, and happy environments where children can engage in healthy recreation. This project aims to reshape public areas into engaging spaces that foster stronger family bonds and enhance the overall well-being of the city’s young residents.
Mayor Luis Munguía González spearheaded the inauguration ceremony, sharing the promising news that “Tukilandia” is the first of 20 such parks planned for development throughout Puerto Vallarta. In his address, he highlighted the project as integral to a governmental vision focused on children, urban improvement, and community progress. “This is a significant day for Vallarta,” the Mayor stated, “as we launch a project poised to transform our city with dignified spaces dedicated to our children.”
Alongside the Jardines del Puerto Park, the initial phase of this renovation project also saw improvements to La Leña Park in Las Juntas, Las Torres Park in Aralias, Palmar del Progreso Park, and Vistahermosa Park. The total investment for these five parks amounted to 7,466,000 pesos, with the work carried out by Nieto Riesta Desarrolladora SA de CV, as confirmed by the Director of Public Works, Engineer Edén Arturo Castillón Villaseñor.
The celebratory inauguration was filled with amusement, featuring entertaining performances by clowns and jugglers. Adding to the excitement, a raffle offered wonderful prizes and gifts to all the families who attended, ensuring an afternoon brimming with joy and laughter. Mayor Munguía expressed his gratitude to the council members, directors, and organizers whose collaborative efforts brought this project to fruition, a project that honors the children of Vallarta with newly enhanced public spaces designed specifically for their enjoyment.
