La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Nayarit, Mexico – Get ready, burger lovers! The Marina Riviera Nayarit is set to host its 11th Annual Burger Cook-Off this Saturday, July 5th, at 4:30 PM. The event, taking place at the Marina La Cruz Poolside Deli, promises an afternoon of delicious fun for the whole family, all while supporting a worthy cause.
The highly anticipated cook-off invites local chefs, talented boat cooks, and passionate backyard grillers to showcase their culinary skills. Participants will vie for the coveted title of “Burger King” of 2025 and exciting prizes from local businesses.
All types of burgers are welcome, from classic beef to chicken, turkey, veggie, and fish creations. Competing chefs are asked to arrive by 3:30 PM with their own grilling utensils, cutting boards, and four ready-to-grill burgers along with buns, condiments, and toppings. Grills will be provided on-site.
But the fun isn’t just for the competitors! Everyone is encouraged to participate as a judge, helping to crown the best burger in town. After all burgers are grilled and on display, attendees can sample a variety of offerings. To cast a vote, tasters will keep the toothpick marked with the number of their favorite burger.

While the event is free to attend, judges (or “tasters”) are kindly asked to make a 200 peso donation. These contributions will directly benefit the Santuario de Cocodrilos El Cora Wildlife Refuge, supporting their important conservation efforts.
This delightful summer celebration is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fantastic food, connect with the community, and contribute to a significant local cause.
